Sopranes Lakes

Located in the heart of the Tessa Group Nature Park at an altitude of 2,117 to 2,589 metres you'll find the Sopranes Lakes, a group of lakes which has developed due to the movements of the glacier. These are the highest alpine lake plains in South Tyrol, even in summer you might sometimes still find some snow along the shores. The biggest of the 10 Sopranes Lakes are Lago Verde, Lago Lungo, Laghi di Latte and Lago Mücken. The lakes supply a large part of the city of Merano and surroundings with water. Enjoy splendid hikes leading past these beautiful alpine lakes. Some of the hikes require rather good condition, but you will be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views.
